People will look upon your status, beauty, wisdom, qualification and having noted you've got none they might tag you 'useless'. But "the LORD does not see as man sees, he looks at your heart!" He isnt concerned about any of the qualities mentioned above. He loves you just the way you are.Oh! what a wonderful god he is!
The above mentioned verse was said by the LORD to prophet Samuel,when he was in the mission to anoint a king for Israel. God led him to jesse's(David's father) house. Seven of David's elder brothers were present during samuel's arrival, while David was in a desert looking after his sheep. He was a shepherd. Jesse dint consider David significant enough to send word and call him. Meanwhile,samuel saw the eldest son. He was a soldier and appeared to be very handsome. Samuel thought he would be the one predestined by the lord to be the king.Thats when the lord says "I do not see as man sees! I look at the heart!"
God rejected all of David's brothers.Finally Samuel enquired Jesse if he had anymore sons.Only then Jesse remembered his youngest son David! He was called immediately and anointed before his brothers!
Yes my friend,the world would have forgotten you, your friends might have forgotten you and why even your parents might have forgotten you........ but the LORD says "YOU SHALL NOT BE FORGOTTEN OF ME!"(IS 44:27)
God not only chose David to be a king,but he also chose to be his offspring. Jesus was called the "son of david"( math 9:27)
The one who was considered to be seldom significant by his father and brothers was the chosen one of god.God called David "the man after his own heart".
What attribute of David pleased the lord so much? He was the youngest of his brothers,he was a shepherd and he was the least significant of all! Yet,why did the lord like him so much?
David says in psalm16:8, "I have set the lord always before me because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved".
Yes! it is this love and passion that he had for the LORD gave him the previlege to be the Lord's chosen. He loved the Lord so much that he set him before everything and everyone!
Yes my friend, reach out to God and he will reach out to you!Prioritise him and he will prioritise you!
There would have been days when you looked at your image in the mirror and put forth the question"Why was I even born?"
Well,the lord has a purpose for you. He says,"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,before you were born I set you apart and appointed you a blessing to the nations".
So the next time you call yourself a wretch,a fool,a useless man,pause and think. For,
HE chose not a soldier but a shepherd,
HE chose not a horse but a donkey,
HE chose not a palace but a manger
and HE has chosen not the rich and efficient
but the "FRAIL YOU!"
